FAQ’s
1. Where are you located?
We have two locations to serve you. One is in Gig Harbor, at 2319 Point Fosdick Road. The other is in Olalla, at 5493 Burley-Olalla Road. Do you need directions? (Olalla Lodge or Gig Harbor Lodge?)
2. Do I need reservations?
During all holidays and summer, you will absolutely need a reservation. We tend to fill up quickly on weekends around the holidays as well. Would you like to make a reservation now?
3. Does my pet need to have certain vaccinations prior to boarding?
In order to protect all of our guests, no pets are admitted without proof of current vaccinations (per your vets advice good for 1 to 3 years). For dogs: Distemper/Parvo and Rabies. For cats: Rabies, FVR-CP, FeLV [feline leukemia-optional]. See our admission requirements page for specifics.
Typically, the Rabies vaccines are good for three years and the others are good for one to three years, per your veterinarians advice. Your veterinarian can either give you copies of your pet’s records or they can fax them to us. Once the records are in our computer system, we will track them for you and advise you when they need to be updated. You may have to ask your vet for the Bordatella vaccination since it’s usually only given to pets that are boarded.
4. What if my pet is on medication and needs regular doses of medicine?
Normal meds are given without charge. Insulin & other required meds will be charged .50 to $1.50 per administration.
5. What if my pet becomes ill or requires medical attention during their stay?
For continuity of care, we will take your pet to your veterinarian (if they are available) when needed. Naturally, we will contact both the owner and the emergency contact provided by the owner as well. Should the nature of your pet’s illness require an office visit, we reserve the right to utilize our on-call
veterinarian, depending upon the illness and the travel required to access your veterinarian.
