Our pet lodges offer complete services and many extras to make your dog’s stay away from home a safe, happy and pleasant experience. We know how important it is for you to be assured that while you’re away, your dog is enjoying the best care in an environment that meets both their physical requirements as well as offering fun filled activities designed to make their stay away from home something that they will really enjoy!

Not all dogs have the same requirements. With that in mind, we offer a wide variety of services and amenities. As you tour our website, you will see many smiling faces on our guests and their owners too! That’s of utmost importance to us, as we know it is to you.

A stay at Peninsula Pet Lodge is like a vacation for your dog. Whether your dog loves to play or just be pampered - we have just the vacation in store for your dog. Some dogs just want to have fun, and that is exactly what they will have at Peninsula Pet Lodge.

Accommodations

TLC accommodations - Indoor rooms are available for our smaller dogs as well as our special needs and older dogs. They are boarded separately from the bigger louder dogs. We make sure that special care is given to our TLC guests.

Indoor/outdoor Rooms are for our larger, more robust dogs with an inside sleeping room and an outside patio. These are only available at our Olalla location.

Suites - Our Gig Harbor dog boarding location has special suites available for boarding. These are private rooms with special amenities. Read more about our suites.

Guest rooms contain a hammock, resting pad or slumber bed.

We encourage you to bring blankets or beds from home so the familiarity helps your pet adapt to their new surroundings, but we also will provide pets with bedding when needed.

Toys and chews are welcome, however no pig ears or hooves please. All belongings must be clearly marked with last name using a permanent marker.

Meals

We highly recommend bringing your dog's own food for them to eat during their stay. Eating what they are used to is less stressful and helps their digestion. Drastic food changes can cause pets to have a lack of appetite, an upset stomach or even diarrhea. Please bring enough food for an extra day or two, in case your plans get changed.

For our dog guests who don't have their own food brought with them, we feed AvoDerm Adult Dog Food Lamb and Rice for medium and large dogs and Holistic Canine Caviar for small dogs.

Our Guests receive two meals each day plus cookies breaks and treats. Young puppies and elderly dogs can get feed three times a day upon request.

All canine guests are also given hot meals with Peninsula Pet Lodge’s homemade stew consisting of cooked turkey, beef, chicken and vegetables.

Health & Grooming

We have a "no flea" policy. All Guests are examined for fleas upon arrival. If fleas are found, they will be given a flea bath (fee will be assessed) before entering the guest rooms.

If your dog requires regular medications we will be glad to administer them while they are boarding with us. Extraordinary medications (i.e. injections or other difficult-to-administer medications) are charged extra for administering.

We require all Guests to be up to date on their inoculations. Please see our Lodging Requirements page for additional details.

Our Guests have the option of a signature bath, a departure bath or a full groom while they are boarding with us for an additional charge. Please see our Pet Grooming Salon page for more information.

If your pet should require medical attention while in our care, our customary procedure is to contact your veterinarian. Should the nature of your pet’s illness require an office visit, we reserve the right to utilize our on-call veterinarian, depending upon the illness and the travel required to access your veterinarian. Please provide us with a phone number where you or the person you designate can be contacted in the event of an emergency.

Extra Fun & Treats

We offer playtimes, nature walks and other pampered pet activities at an additional charge. (please see Rates page for pricing on these special services)

Nature Walks - Walks specifically planned to include the sights and sounds (and lots of trees!) of a park or forest setting, like the times you take them hiking with you. Our spacious secure fenced grounds let them feel like everyday is a “hike in the park”

Frisbee and Ball Catch - Is your dog used to daily frisbee throws or ball catching? We offer the same thing, making their day as fun filled as it is when they’re at home.

Pool Swimming - A large pool with an access ramp for them to leap into a cool wet world of fun!

Walking and Jogging - Is your dog used to a daily walk or jog with you? We can provide camp counselors to step into your role while you’re away, and provide that service to keep your dog in the daily routine they’re used to.

Extra TLC - services with tender petting and loving attention they crave when you’re away. Extra one on one scheduled interaction time with one of our camp counselors.

Bizzy Bones- are designed for the inquisitive dog with discriminating taste. Room service will deliver a strong rubber toy stuffed with a delicious and wholesome treat made daily in our kitchen.

Night Walks - gets your dog ready for a peaceful night’s sleep.

“Business Walks” are available daily for those dogs that prefer to eliminate on grass.

"Barksicles"- It’s not ice cream, but your dog will think it is! We offer a special treat to our doggy guests which is similar to Frosty Paws™. Our Barksicles were developed as a healthy replacement for ice cream. We make it ourselves from organic yogurt, peanut butter and bananas or pumpkins. It's an all natural, nutritious frozen treat that is packed with protein, vitamins and minerals dogs need for good health. It has no added sodium, sugar, artificial flavors or artificial colors. All dogs love our Barksicles because it’s a cold, delicious and refreshing treat.
